[edit]Inherited from Old East Slavic добродꙋшьнꙑи (dobrodušĭnyi), from добро (dobro, “good”) + дꙋша (duša, “soul”) + -ьнꙑи (-ĭnyi), a calque of Ancient Greek εὔψυχος (eúpsukhos). Also, compare with Macedonian добродушен (dobrodušen), Serbo-Croatian добродушан, Czech dobrodušný, Polish dobroduszny.
