Inherited from Old East Slavic дъбрь (dŭbrĭ) : дьбрь (dĭbrĭ), from Proto-Slavic *dьbrь (valley, ravine), from Proto-Balto-Slavic *dubris, from Proto-Indo-European *dʰubr-, from *dʰewbʰ- (deep).
