Inherited from Proto-Slavic *golsiti. By surface analysis, голос (holos) +‎ -и́ти (-ýty). Compare Russian голоси́ть (golosítʹ) and гласи́ть (glasítʹ), Belarusian галасі́ць (halasícʹ), Polish głosić.
