[edit]Inherited from Proto-Samic *oantē. Cognates include Northern Sami oattes and Skolt Sami vuẹʹddes.

Usage notes
[edit]- Apparently, initially вӯннҍт meant any plant root in general, and вуэнҍтэсь meant a tree root specifically. However, nowadays this distinction seems to be lost.
