[edit]ва́рто • (várto) (+ dative case (optionally) and infinitive)
- indicating advisability, prudence or desirability: (it is) worth, (one) should, (one) ought to
- Synonyms: слід (slid), тре́ба (tréba)
- ва́рто зазна́чити, що... ― várto zaznáčyty, ščo... ― It should be noted that..., It's worth noting that...
- На це ва́рто зверну́ти ува́гу. ― Na ce várto zvernúty uváhu. ― It's worth paying attention to this.
- Нам ва́рто зустрі́тися. ― Nam várto zustrítysja. ― We should meet up.
- Не ва́рто ві́рити таки́м зая́вам. ― Ne várto víryty takým zajávam. ― One should not believe such statements.
- Панікува́ти не ва́рто. ― Panikuváty ne várto. ― There's no need to panic.
- (chiefly used with ті́льки or лише́) indicating a minimal sufficient condition or requirement for something.
