Cognate with Yakut бүт (büt, “to end, finish”).

- (intransitive) to end, finish, be over
- Ҡарама олононан һут аҡһа, яҙғы һалҡындар бөтә.
- Qarama olononan hut aqha, yaźğı halqındar bötə.
- If sap oozes from elm tree trunk, spring frosts will be over.
- (transitive, takes object in indefinite accusative) to graduate from college, university
