[edit]From бурдюг (burdjuh, “small dwelling”), which may be a variation on бурдю́к (burdjúk, “waterskin”), itself from Crimean Tatar [Term?]. Cognate with Bulgarian борде́й (bordéj) and Romanian bordei.
