блекота
Appearance
Ukrainian
[edit]Etymology
[edit]Inherited from Proto-Slavic *blekota (“bleating, mumbling”), of onomatopoeic origin. The semantic shift from "mumbling" to "henbane" is the result of henbane's toxicity, as henbane poisoning causes hallucinations accompanied by raving.
