[edit]Inherited from Old Slovak biť, from Proto-Slavic *biti. Cognate with Slovak biť. A distant doublet of бес (bes).

- биє ме жима ― bije me žima ― I have a fever (literally, “the winter is hitting me”)
- биц на дакого ― bic na dakoho ― to attack someone (literally, “to beat on someone”)
- биц з даким ― bic z dakim ― to be on someone's side (literally, “to beat with someone”)
- (intransitive) to strike, to beat
- (transitive) to beat, to bludgeon (to punish with a mallet, etc.)
- (transitive, figurative) to not give peace
