Etymology

[edit]

Corruption of бандар-лог (bandar-log, a tribe of monkeys from "The Jungle Book"), from English Bandar-log, ultimately Hindi बन्दर-लोग (bandar-log, monkey people). All the other meanings of this word were influenced by senses 1 and 2.

For senses 6 and 7, a blend of банде́ровец (bandérovec, a Banderite, supporter of Stephan Bandera) +‎ бандар-ло́г (bandar-lóg, Bandar-log, a tribe of monkeys from "The Jungle Book").
