[edit]Inherited from Old East Slavic арцыбискꙋпъ (arcybiskupŭ), from Old Polish arcybiskup, ultimately from Ancient Greek ἀρχιεπίσκοπος (arkhiepískopos). Doublet of архиепи́скоп (arxijepískop).
