Cognate with Kazakh ақсақал (aqsaqal), Tatar аксакал (aqsaqal), Kyrgyz аксакал (aksakal), Southern Altai аксагал (aksagal), Uzbek oqsoqol, Uyghur ئاقساقال (aqsaqal), Turkmen aksakgal, Turkish aksakallı (village elder; elderly respected man).
