Etymology
[edit]From Classical Mongolian ᠬᠢᠲᠠᠳ (Kitad, “the Chinese; China”, plural), from Middle Mongol ᠺᠢᠲᠠᠳ (Kitad, “the Khitans”, plural), ultimately from Khitan 𘱿𘲫 (*qid ún).
