Russian

[edit]

Etymology

[edit]

ра́бский (rábskij, slave-like) +‎ вымира́ть (vymirátʹ, to die out, to become extinct) +‎ эмира́т (emirát, emirate), influenced by the similar-sounding Объединённые Ара́бские Эмира́ты (Obʺjedinjónnyje Arábskije Emiráty, United Arab Emirates). "Рабский" refers to the practice of autocracy in Russian politics; "вымирать" refers to the claimed poorer quality of life in Russia; and the second word is mixed with "Эмираты" to refer to Russia's economy being primarily based on oil.
