Etymology
[edit]From the river name *Пльскова (*Plĭskova) (Russian Пскова́ (Psková)). Identical to Old Church Slavonic Пльсковъ (Plĭskovŭ, “Pliska”), also related to Polish Pszczyna. Probably related to Proto-Slavic *pleskъ (“splash”).
