Blend of Евро́па (Jevrópa, Europe) +‎ майда́н (majdán, square), from Ukrainian Євромайда́н (Jevromajdán), named after Ukrainian Майда́н Незале́жності (Majdán Nezaléžnosti, Independence Square) in Kiev.
