φιμός
Appearance
Ancient Greek
[edit]Etymology
[edit]Unexplained. According to Beekes, the similarity of the suffix with κημός (kēmós, “muzzle”) is notable, while the relation with φιτρός (phitrós, “block of wood”) seems improbable.
