τόργος
Appearance
Ancient Greek
[edit]Etymology
[edit]Without a convincing etymology. A connection with Proto-Germanic *sturkaz (“stork”) seems gratuitous. Thompson compares Coptic ⲧⲣⲉ (tre, “kite”).
