[edit]An onomatopoeic word, like Sanskrit तित्तिर (tittira, “partridge”), टिट्टिभ (ṭiṭṭibha, “water-hen”), Lithuanian titìlvis (“sanderling”), τῐτῐ́ζω (titízō, “to chip”) and τῑτῐ́ς (tītís, “small chirping bird”).
