μόθος
Appearance
Ancient Greek
[edit]Etymology
[edit]No cognates outside Greek. Has been compared with Proto-Slavic *metàti (“to throw”) and with Sanskrit मथति (mathati, “to stir”) but this seems unprobable. Perhaps from Pre-Greek.
