μέλπω
Appearance
Ancient Greek
[edit]Etymology
[edit]No etymology. If somehow related to μέλος (mélos, “song, strain”), we have to start from an original "member", not from "song". Connection with the Celtic group of Old Irish molaidir (“to praise”) and Welsh mawl (“praise, exaltation”) is dubious.
