κολοσυρτός
Appearance
Ancient Greek
[edit]Etymology
[edit]Frequently analyzed as *κολο-συρ-τός (*kolo-sur-tós), with a suffix shared also by κονιορτός (koniortós, “cloud of dust”) and βουλυτός (boulutós, “late afternoon, evenfall”), while the second member would be from σύρω (súrō, “to draw, sweep”) However, the first member remains unexplained.
