θύμαλλος

From Wiktionary, the free dictionary

[edit]

Etymology

[edit]

The word has been connected with θύμον (thúmon, thyme), because of its scent. However, as the suffix -αλλος is Pre-Greek, it is improbable that the basic word was of inner-Greek formation.
