[edit]From Proto-Hellenic *drutómos (whence also 𐀉𐀬𐀵𐀗 (du-ru-to-mo)), from Proto-Indo-European *dóru (“tree”) (whence δρῦς (drûs, “tree”)) + *tómh₂os (“cutting”) (whence τόμος (tómos, “slice”)), from *temh₂- (“to cut”).
