[edit]Probably from Illyrian, confronting βαυρία (bauría, “house, dwelling”) and βύριον (búrion, “house”). Might be related to Proto-Albanian *bhou̯onā (“dwelling, abode”), *bhunā (“hut”), but the lack of an -r- or even an initial -a- makes this unlikely.
