[edit]Borrowed from Old Persian *Čiçamiθrah, from 𐎨𐎡𐏂 (c-i-ç /čiçaʰ/, “shining; appearance; lineage”) + 𐎷𐎰𐎼 (mi-θ-r /Miθraʰ/, “Mithra”).[1]
