Etymology
[edit]According to Visser,[1] a dialectal (probably Doric) form of Ὀδυσσεύς (Odusseús). Probably from a Pre-Greek source tentatively reconstructed by Beekes as *Od/lukyeu.[2] Compare Etruscan 𐌖𐌈𐌖𐌆𐌄 (uθuze).
