Cognate with Parthian 𐫀𐫇𐫘𐫤𐫏𐫃𐫀𐫗 (ʾwstygʾn /⁠ōstīgān⁠/, strong, firm), 𐫀𐫇𐫘𐫤𐫏𐫃 (ʾwstyg /⁠ōstīg⁠/, firm, stable). Nyberg analyses as *ava-staya-ka-.
