- May stand in for palatalized [nʲ]. In Spanish, it is represented by ñ.
- (superscript ⟨ᶮ⟩, IPA) light to full [ɲ]-prenasalization, [ɲ]-release or light post-nasalization, [ɲ]-coloring or a weak, fleeting or epenthetic [ɲ].
