(IPA) one variety of the Swedish sj sound, variously interpreted.
(superscript ⟨𐞗⟩,IPA,rare)[ɧ]-fricated release of a plosive, [ɧ]-coloring, or a weak, fleeting or epenthetic [ɧ].
Some second language learners have difficulties separating [f] from [ɧᶠ]. […] Thus, there is then no need, at this point, to introduce another IPA symbol [f𐞗].
The IPA describes the sound as simultaneous [ʃ] and [x], but according to Peter Ladefoged, former President of the IPA, such a sound would be practically impossible. The actual nature of the sound is debated, and also varies by dialect; the letter ⟨ɧ⟩ tends to be used for pan-dialectical transcription regardless of the precise sound being transcribed.
