[edit]From Proto-Sino-Tibetan. Cognate with Burmese ရ (ra., “get, must”), Tibetan རག་པ (rag pa, “get, rely on”), Tangut 𘜘 (*rjir¹, “get, gain”), and Nuosu ꊌ (wep, “get”). Compare with Lhao Vo qo" , Zaiwa wo, and Longchuan Achang ʐua³⁵.
