[edit]From Ashokan Prakrit *𑀛𑀸𑀝𑁆𑀞 (*jhāṭṭha, “hair”). Cognate with Savi [script needed] (žāṭ, “hair”), Palesi Shina [script needed] (žaṭh, “goat's hair”), Kashmiri زَٹھ (zaṭh, “combings”), Hindi झाँट (jhā̃ṭ, “pubic hair”).
