Etymology
[edit]From Arabic حِيلَة (ḥīla, “ruse, maneuver”). The phrase لَا حِيلةَ لَهُ (lā ḥīlata lahu, literally “he has no maneuver”) is used with a similar meaning as in Maltese; and compare حَيْل (ḥayl, “power”).
