From Proto-Turkic. Cognate to Crimean Tatar tonamaq, Karachay-Balkar тонаргъа (tonarğa), Kumyk тонамакъ (tonamaq), Kyrgyz тоноо (tonoo), Southern Altai тоноор (tonoor), Tatar тунарга (tunarga), etc.
