From French tarif, from Italian tariffa, from Ottoman Turkish تعرفه (ta'rife), from Persian تعرفه (ta'refe), from Arabic تَعْرِفَة (taʕrifa, tariff, rate), from the root ع ر ف (ʕ-r-f).
