  1. Storage in a tank.
    • 1961 August, “New traffic flows in South Wales”, in Trains Illustrated, page 494:
      A new ocean terminal, provided with modern tankage with a total capacity of nearly 8,000,000gal for the storage of fuel oil and refined petroleum products, was recently completed by the Regent Oil Co. at Queen Alexandra Dock, Cardiff.
  2. The amount that a tank (or tanks) can hold.
  3. The charge levied for storage in a tank.
  4. (agriculture) Waste matter from tanks, especially the dried nitrogenous residue from tanks in which fat has been rendered, used as a fertilizer.
