English[edit]
Etymology[edit]
Distinguishing the kind of drink, as also soft drink, hard drink, etc.
Noun[edit]
- Synonym of liquor, an alcoholic beverage, particularly a distilled beverage with a high alcohol content.
- Sure, beer is alcoholic, sure, but I wouldn't really call it a strong drink. Maybe a really strong IPA would count, though.
Descendants[edit]
- → Scottish Gaelic: deoch làidir (calque)
