slinta (present slinter, preterite slant, supine sluntit, imperative slint)

  1. to slip so as to (nearly) have an accident or other undesirable outcome
    Jag slant med sågen och sågade nästan av mig fingret
    I slipped with the saw and nearly sawed my finger off
  2. (figurative, in "slinta med tungan") to have a slip of the tongue
    Jag menade inte det jag sa. Jag slant med tungan.
    I didn't mean what I said. I had a slip of the tongue.
  3. to lose one's footing; to slip
