[edit]From Old Swedish skuþa, skoþa, from Old Norse skoða, from Proto-Germanic *skuþōną. Related with skön (“fair, beautiful”).

Usage notes
[edit]- Today mainly present as last term in compounds, in the form of -skådare, “watcher” in the meaning of “someone who looks at”. See below.
