Etymology

From Ottoman Turkish صیجاق (sıcak),[1] from older اصیجاق (ıssıcak, hot, warm) (via Old Anatolian Turkish [script needed] (isicak/ïsïcak)), equivalent to ısı (heat) + diminutive suffix -cak, ultimately from Proto-Turkic *ïsï-, *isi- (to be hot).[2]
