Etymology
[edit]From o + gbó + atọ́ + àsúre + Ìwòrìwòfún, ultimately from o- (“agent prefix”) + gbó (“to be old”) + a- (“agent prefix”) + tọ́ (“to live a long life”) + à- (“nominalizing prefix”) + súre (“to shower blessings”) + Ìwòrìwòfún (“the spirit of the 61st chapter of the Odù Ifá”), literally “May you live to be old, may you live a long and healthy life, receive the blessings of Iworiwofun”.
