[edit]Cognate to Massachusett mittamwus (“woman, wife”), Miami metaimsah (“woman”), Menominee mētamo (“woman”).[1] Compare reconstructed Proto-Algonquian *metemwa (“old woman”), *metemwehsihsa (“little old woman”).[2]
