Etymology

From Arabic حُكْم (ḥukm) +‎ Persian ـدار (-dâr). By surface analysis, hukm +‎ -dor. Compare Azerbaijani hökmdar, Turkish hükümdar, Turkmen hökümdar, Uyghur ھۈكۈمدار (hükümdar).
