Inherited from Ottoman Turkish گونی گوننه (günü gününe),[1][2] from گون (gün),[3] equivalent to gün (day) +‎ (possessive suffix) +‎ gün +‎ (possessive suffix) +‎ -(n)e (dative suffix with "n" as buffer consonant).
