Borrowed from New Latin analgēsia, from Ancient Greek ἀναλγησίᾱ (analgēsíā, want of feeling, insensibility), from ἀνάλγητος (análgētos), from ἀν- (an-, not) + ἀλγέω (algéō, feel bodily pain, suffer) + -τος (-tos, adjectival suffix).
