can be subsumed within:

"Perhaps from the hard-T Irish pronunciation of thanks or from Scandinavian takk/tack?"

which is already part of the proposed-but-uncertain {{rfe}} tag. Rather than adding an equally unsourced/unjustified etym you might consider accessing an etym resource?
