Etymology[edit]

There are two syllables, that means two words. What do they mean?
In Turkish it is 'tünel'. Unlikely that the Turks learnt it from the French.
One can understand it via Hungarian: 'tűn el'; 'appears away'. See the Sumerian 'dingir'. (The Sumerian name was stuck on them by Oppert. They called themselves 'mahgar' or 'kumahgar'.) For further information see: René Labat, Manuel D' Épigraphie Akkadienne (1st edition. The second and subsequent editions seem to be incomplete) — This unsigned comment was added by 115.70.177.64 (talk).

Two syllables doesn’t mean two words, not in synthetic languages such as English and French. — Ungoliant (falai) 15:56, 14 May 2016 (UTC)Reply
