Is it abril and not april because of the Arabian occupation of Spain, where in Arabic P becomes B? — This unsigned comment was added by 79.182.77.249 (talk).

The /b/ in abril reflects a regular sound change in Western Romance. It affected languages outside of the zone of Arabic influence and is attested prior to the Moorish invasion. — Ungoliant (falai) 13:04, 29 September 2020 (UTC)Reply
