Translingual
[edit]Etymology
[edit]Dates at least to Lepsius for palatalized post-alveolar (i.e. alveopalatal).
Design
[edit]An overstruck caron (◌̌) and acute accent (◌́); in italic typeface, the two are angled so as to give the product the shape of a crown or arrow, so in roman typeface the acute is made vertical.
Diacritical mark
[edit]◌᪳
- (Lepsius, Teuthonista) Combined with sibilant letters to indicate a sibilant fricative or affricate between post-alveolar and palatal (i.e. alveopalatal) in articulation.
