Borrowed from Classical Persian چَشْم (čašm), from Middle Persian [script needed] (AYNE), [script needed] (čšm /⁠čašm⁠/), from Proto-Iranian *čášma, from Proto-Indo-Iranian *čáćšma. Doublet of চোখ (cōkh) and চশমা (cośma).
